Flavien Prat set the single-season stakes record on Dec. 7, breaking the previous record of 79 set by Irad Ortiz Jr. in 2022, and tied Jerry Bailey for the single-season graded stakes record with 55. Prat earned his record 80th stakes win aboard Poster in the Grade 2 Remsen Stakes at Aqueduct for trainer Eoin Harty.

Prat rode at a 45% winning clip last week and 73% in-the-money with five wins from 11 starts and $544,426 in earnings. With 223 wins and $36,758,216 in earnings this year, Prat leads the North American jockey standings by $5 million over Irad Ortiz Jr. in second.

Poster, an undefeated 3-year-old colt by Munnings, moved into the top 100 in the 2-year-old division and is now ranked 43rd with $241,628 in earnings after his win in the Remsen. The Godolphin homebred added another graded stakes win to his leading owner’s resume and banked 10 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve leaderboard. Godolphin and trainer Eoin Harty won the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes last week at Churchill Downs with First Resort. Poster is now eighth in the Kentucky Derby point standings.

In his second start after an 11 ½-month layoff, Locked returned to graded stakes-winning form on Dec. 7 at Aqueduct, winning the Grade 2 Cigar Mile Handicap presented by Twinspires.com by a length and a half under John Velazquez to earn a 113 Equibase Speed Figure for trainer Todd Pletcher. The Hall of Fame duo of Pletcher and Velazquez are winning at an incredible 80% in graded stakes at Aqueduct in the last three years. Locked, with a lifetime record of four wins from six starts, has only been beaten by four horses; he finished third by 3 ½ lengths to Just Steel and Be You in his career debut at Saratoga and finished third by 6 ¾ lengths behind Fierceness and Muth in the 2023 FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance at Santa Anita.

Muhimma, a $700,000 yearling purchase, remains undefeated from three starts and surged up the standings in the 2-year-old division. She now ranks 30th with $279,460 in purse earnings. The 2-year-old filly joins Poster as one of two graded stakes winners by Munnings last week and also earned 10 points on the Road to the Longines Kentucky Oaks leaderboard.

Likewise, Tenma earned 10 points toward qualifying for the Kentucky Oaks with her win in the Grade 2 Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos Dec. 7. The 2-year-old filly by Nyquist held off a very game Look Forward in a thrilling stretch run and drew clear to win by a length and three-quarters under Juan Hernandez. Now with three wins and $369,000 in purse earnings, Tenma moved up one spot into 17th in the 2-year-old division standings for trainer Bob Baffert.
