Chad Brown remains on top of the Equibase earnings leaderboard for trainers in North America this week after posting six wins from 14 starts – a 43% rate – with $427,035 in earnings. Of those six wins, three of them were in listed stakes races at Belmont at the Big A. Brown won the Chelsey Flower Stakes with Opulent Restraint and the Awad Stakes with Valuation Metric, and he finished first and second in the Athenia Stakes with Child of the Moon and Prerequisite. Brown has widened his lead over Steve Asmussen by $549,975 in earnings; however, Asmussen remains on top of the trainers’ standings by number of wins with 329.

After another three-stakes winning week, Brown remains on top of the leaderboard in the stakes and graded stakes categories by both earnings and number of wins. Brad Cox remains in third in the overall trainer standings, but he continues to find the winner’s circle, adding six wins from 11 starts last week (55%) and $604,528 in earnings. Cox, Brown, and Asmussen are the only three North America-based trainers that have surpassed $20 million in earnings. Cox sits at more than $22 million, trailing $1,559,349 behind Asmussen in earnings.

One of Cox’s trainees, Chop Chop, climbed up 34 spots on the Equibase earnings leaderboard for North America-based racehorses and is now ranked 59th after her win in the Grade 3 Rood & Riddle Dowager Stakes at Keeneland. Chop Chop scored her second graded stakes victory of the year for Cox on Sunday and has earnings of $683,583 in 2024.

After an impressive win in the Grade 2 Lexus Raven Run Stakes at Keeneland, Emery has cracked the top 100 in the standings and sits in 80th place with $574,236 in earnings. The daughter of More Than Ready, also trained by Cox, has excelled in her 3-year-old campaign, winning four races from five starts including two graded stakes wins and a second-place finish in the Grade 1 Test Stakes at Saratoga. Emery earned a career-best 101 Equibase Speed Figure in the Raven Run.

Flavien Prat had a sensational week of riding at Keeneland and Belmont at the Big A. He tallied nine wins from 33 starts, winning at a 27% clip. That includes three stakes wins and a total earnings of $687,379. Prat remains second to Irad Ortiz Jr. when ranked by earnings and wins among North America-based jockeys. With a little over a week until the Breeders’ Cup, Prat trails Ortiz Jr. by just $591,020 in earnings while maintaining a solid lead in the graded stakes category ranked by earnings and number of wins.
