
2025 Kentucky Derby Trail: Three Heating Up, Three Cooling Down for March 18
Each week a panel of media members, horseplayers, and Breeders’ Cup World Championships officials release a poll tabulating their votes on the nation's top contenders for the 2023 Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita Park. For the sixth straight week, the leader in the rankings is Travers Stakes winner and Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets winner Arcangelo. This week, Slow Down Andy, the winner of the Grade 1 Awesome Again Stakes at Santa Anita, and Zandon, winner of the Grade 2 Woodward Stakes at Belmont at the Big A, both enter the Top 10.
The rankings are determined by each voter ranking their top 10 horses with points assigned on a descending 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis. The rankings will be updated each week through Oct. 10. The results of the latest poll are below.
