Where to Watch/Listen: Horse Racing Coverage for Feb. 4-7
Events / TravelHorse racing action is in full swing the first week of February, highlighted by two qualifying points preps for the 2021 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve. On Saturday, the Withers Stakes at Aqueduct and the Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs both offer Derby points to the top four finishers on a 10-4-2-1 basis.
The Withers and the Sam F. Davis will both be showcased on the NYRA-produced “America’s Day at the Races” program along with races from Oaklawn Park and other tracks. Presented by America’s Best Racing and Claiborne Farm, the show will air on FS2 Saturday, Feb. 6.
Racing from Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park, and other tracks will be shown on TVG all weekend as part of their usual comprehensive coverage.
This week also features several live streaming shows from America’s Best Racing and partners. The popular “La Trifecta” program returns with a new episode Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. ET. Presented en Espanol, the show is hosted by Darwin Vizcaya, Claudia Spadaro, and Annise Montplaisir. It airs on ABR’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels.
The new “Always Be Racing” live streaming show scheduled returns this Friday, Feb. 5. Hosted by BlackJack Fletcher, the show begins at 2 p.m. ET. “Always Be Racing” can be viewed on ABR's Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels as well as BlackJack Fletcher's Twitter account.
Lastly, ABR presents the first “Clash for Cash” live streaming show of 2021 on Saturday, Feb. 6. The show will pit BlackJack Fletcher against Bri Mott of StableDuel in a battle of handicapping skills as they analyze races from Tampa Bay Downs. The show has a tentative start time of 3 p.m. ET and can be viewed on ABR’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels.
