Big-Race Showdown: Breeders’ Cup Classic, Distaff Picks
GamblingFor the fourth year in a row, America’s Best Racing is challenging some of the brightest minds in horse betting to come up with their top three picks for key races every weekend leading up to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. The handicappers face off in what we like to call “Big-Race Showdown.”
The players’ picks will be posted here and a running bankroll will be kept to track their success all year long. Bankrolls will be tabulated on the basis of $2 exacta and $2 trifecta box bets of each player’s top three selections. We will also be keeping track of which player correctly selects the most winners.
Your players for the second half of the 2020 season are Ashley Mailloux (Paddock Analyst, Fort Erie), Mike McCormick (PokerFuse), Nicolle Neulist (Arlington Park), Roberto Rodriguez (ElPotroRoberto.com), Mike Somich (RacingDudes.com), Kenny Schmitt (FBWinners.com), ABR’s Dan Tordjman, TV analyst Darwin Vizcaya, and Horse Racing Nation Senior Writer Brian Zipse.
Our featured races this week, both Nov. 7 at Keeneland, are the $2 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff at 3:54 p.m. ET and the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic at 5:13 p.m. ET.
NBC Sports is, as usual, the go-to outlet for live broadcasts of all World Championships races. Friday’s five Breeders’ Cup races will be shown on NBCSN during a broadcast from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. ET. The first four of nine Breeders' Cup races on Saturday will be shown on NBCSN from noon-2:30 p.m. ET, and the final five will air on a national broadcast on NBC from 2:30 p.m.-6 p.m. ET, culminating with the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic, which has a post time of 5:13 p.m. ET.
