Eric Reed hails from a family of horsemen and has enjoyed success at tracks across the country, amassing more than 1,400 wins since taking out his license in 1985. Reed won the Grade 2 Lexus Raven Run Stakes at Keeneland with Satan’s Quick Chick in 2009 and earned a career-defining victory in 2022 when Rich Strike pulled off an 80-1 upset in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve.
Reed’s Mercury Equine Center in Lexington met a devastating tragedy in 2016 when 23 horses died in a barn fire believed to have been started by a lightning strike.
