In 2020 his swift filly Gamine set a stakes record in the Acorn Stakes on the Belmont Stakes undercard to remain undefeated. Petersen purchased the filly for $1.8 million as a 2-year-old. Gamine went on to win the Longines Test Stakes, finish third in the Longines Kentucky Oaks, and then set a track record for seven furlongs in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint in November at Keeneland.
