Jonathan's Way

Jonathan's Way won his 2-year-old career debut in powerful fashion when overcoming a rough break to rally to a 4 1/4-length win at first asking in a six-furlong maiden race at Saratoga on Aug. 17, 2024.

Jonathan's Way made his second lifetime start in the Grade 3 $300,000 Iroquois Stakes going one mile at Churchill Downs on Sept. 14, and he once again took care of business in impressive fashion to get the victory. Sent off as the 6-5 favorite on the tote board in an 11-horse field in the Iroquois, Jonathan's Way went right to the lead and was never seriously threatened on his way to a 2 3/4-length score. The Iroquois Stakes was the first official race on the Road to the 2025 Kentucky Derby and Jonathan's Way picked up a very early 10 points thanks to his win in the Iroquois.

Jonathan’s Way subsequently finished seventh as the third betting choice in the $2 million FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Nov. 1 at Del Mar. He returned to the racetrack for one final race late in his 2-year-old campaign and ended his year by finishing second in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes at Churchill Downs.

Jonathan's Way is trained by Phil Bauer. The Ohio-bred colt by Vekoma was produced by stakes winner Female Drama, by Indian Charlie.
