Preakness Quick Sheet: Get to Know the 2021 Preakness Horses
Where to Watch/Listen: Horse Racing Coverage for July 27-31
Events / TravelHorse racing coverage for the upcoming week in North America focuses on two major storylines. Several accomplished 3-year-olds return to the track Saturday in the $600,000, Grade 2 Jim Dandy Stakes at Saratoga. And later on Saturday, top sprinters will square off in the $400,000, Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes at Del Mar, a “Win and You’re In” qualifier for the Qatar Racing Breeders’ Cup Sprint in November.
The Jim Dandy will be televised on “Saratoga Live” as part of its start-to-finish coverage of Saratoga’s summer meet. Presented by America’s Best Racing and Claiborne Farm, the NYRA-produced show runs from Wednesday to Sunday this week on FS2, FS1 and a special Saturday broadcast on FOX featuring the Jim Dandy – check the below schedule for air times.
The Bing Crosby will be exclusively shown on TVG as part of its comprehensive Del Mar coverage. Racing from other tracks including Gulfstream Park, Ellis Park, Laurel Park, Monmouth Park, and Woodbine will also be shown on TVG.
Horse racing from tracks around the world is available to subscribers on Racetrack Television Network (RTN), which can be livestreamed on all devices (computer, tablet and smartphone) and on TV via DISH Network, Amazon Fire and Roku.
For livestreaming coverage, “Saratoga Saturdays” returns Saturday at 9 a.m. ET. Presented by NYRA Bets, the show is hosted by Jonathon Kinchen and Anita Marks and will preview the July 30 card at the Spa. “Saratoga Saturdays” runs each Saturday through Sept. 3 and is available on ABR’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels as well as Jonathon’s Twitter account and Anita’s Twitter account.
Lastly, the popular “La Trifecta” returns Thursday evening at 8 p.m. ET. Presented en Español, “La Trifecta” is hosted by Darwin Vizcaya, Claudia Spadaro, and Annise Montplaisir. This week’s show will be broadcast on ABR’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels.
