Where to Watch/Listen During 2018 Pegasus World Cup Week
Events / TravelThe second Pegasus World Cup Invitational, which with a purse of $16 million is the world’s richest horse race, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at Gulfstream Park.
Projected starters in the 1 1/8-mile race are led by probable Horse of the Year Gun Runner and the three horses that finished behind him in last fall’s Breeders’ Cup Classic – Collected, West Coast, and War Story.
The Pegasus be the centerpiece of a 90-minute broadcast Saturday on NBC that begins at 4:30 p.m. ET. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports App will also provide live streaming of the broadcast.
The main event during this week’s buildup to the Pegasus World Cup – and a signature event in its own right – happens on Thursday, Jan. 25, at Gulfstream’s Sport of Kings Theater when the 47th annual Eclipse Awards will be presented. Full coverage of the awards ceremony will air on TVG, starting at 8 p.m. ET.
Here’s a rundown of horse racing television, radio, and online video coverage through Pegasus World Cup Week. In addition, XBTV, the online video channel affiliated with Gulfstream’s official wagering platform Xpressbet, will provide comprehensive on-site coverage of the Pegasus World Cup and undercard stakes races leading up to and during the Jan. 27 card.
And lastly, America’s Best Racing’s Dan Tordjman will participate in an online webinar focusing on handicapping the Pegasus World Cup along with Steve Byk of "At the Races with Steve Byk "and Equibase handicapper Ellis Starr.
