Eddie Milligan Jr. is the son of longtime Texas horseman and trainer Eddie Milligan Sr.
His brother, Allen, also is a Thoroughbred trainer who earned his 1,000th career win in February 2019.
Milligan Jr. took out his trainer’s license in 1994 to follow in the family footsteps and later shifted focus to operating his Twin Oaks Training Center in Texas, where he broke and trained yearlings.

He returned to training for the racetrack on a regular basis in 2023 and secured his first stakes win when Magic Grant won the Clever Trevor Stakes Oct. 27, 2023, at Remington Park. Milligan added a stakes win in November when Tapit Jenallie prevailed in the My Trusty Cat Stakes at Delta Downs.
