Bo Hirsch is a retired businessman and the son of top 20th-century California owner Clement Hirsch and privately bought some of his father’s horses after his death in 2000. His first major successes came with 2002 Del Mar Debutante winner Miss Houdini and Papa Clem, a colt named after his father who won the 2009 Arkansas Derby and ran fourth in the Kentucky Derby.
In 2021, Hirsch landed his first Breeders’ Cup winner when Ce Ce upset heavily favored Gamine in the Filly and Mare Sprint at Del Mar, the host track for the Clement Hirsch Stakes.
