Tapiture made four starts, including a third-place finish in the Grade 3 Iroquois Stakes at Chuchill Downs, before breaking his maiden in a 4 1/2-length romp in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (Grade 2).
In his first start as a 3-year-old, the Winchell Thoroughbreds homebred won the Grade 3 Southwest Stakes in impressive fashion. The Tapit colt then finished second in the Rebel and fourth in the Arkansas Derby before finishing a troubled 15th in the 2014 Kentucky Derby.
