Awesome Flower broke her maiden in her second start at Laurel Park. After placing in multiple claiming races throughout 2012, the Flower Alley filly started 2013 strong with a win in a claiming race at Keeneland by 5 3/4 lengths. She went on to win an allowance race in her very next start.

Moving to Churchill the filly won another allowance race and then proceeded to Canterbury Park where she dominated the Lady Canterbury Stakes. She placed third in the Locust Grove Stakes and secured yet another win in the H.B.P.A. Stakes by 3 1/2 lengths. The filly finished out the season with a third place finish in the Grade 3 Chilukki Stakes.
