Hoosier Philly

Hoosier Philly got off to a fast start to her career with a winning streak in the first three races of her career at age 2. She won her maiden at first asking in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden race at Churchill Downs on Sept. 25. She won again in her second start when stretched out to 1 1/16 miles back at Churchill Downs on Oct. 30 when she rolled to victory in the $200,000 Rags Riches Stakes by 7 1/2 lengths on a sloppy track.

Hoosier Philly finished her 2-year-old campaign with a perfect 3-for-3 record when she cruised to victory in the Grade 2 $400,000 Golden Rod Stakes where she also extended her record to 3-for-3 at Churchill Downs. Hoosier Philly sat just off the pace in the Golden Rod until taking charge, in hand, at the top of the stretch and then effortlessly drawing off to a five-length victory. She ran the 1 1/16-mile distance in a winning time of 1:43.94 as the 1-2 odds favorite in a field of eight.

Hoosier Philly made her antcipated 3-year-old debut in the Rachel Alexandra Stakes at Fair Grounds on Feb. 18, 2023. Sent off as the heavy 2-5 favorite in a field of six, Hoosier Philly didn't fire in the Rachel Alexandra. She finished third beaten 8 1/2 lengths.

Hoosier Philly was next unplaced in the Fair Grounds Oaks Presented by Fasig-Tipton and thus did not accrue enough qualifying points to compete in the 2023 Longines Kentucky Oaks. She next turned in a solid effort when second in the $300,000 George E. Mitchell Black-Eyed Susan Stakes on May 19 at Pimlico.

Hoosier Philly is trained by Tom Amoss. She was bred in Kentucky by the sire Into Mischief out of the mare Tapella by Tapit.
