Vedareo is a 2-year-old filly who won her debut on June 14, 2022 in a 4 ½-furlong race at Parx Racing. She was no secret on the tote board as the heavy favorite that day, and she delivered in wire-to-wire fashion and paid $2.60 to win. That debut victory propelled her into stakes competition in her second outing in the Grade 3 Schuylerville Stakes at Saratoga Race Course on Aug. 14, but she was bothered at the start and unable to show speed that day, finishing fifth.

Vedareo’s second foray into the stakes ranks, however, was much more successful. The filly was stretched out to a mile by trainer Robert Reid Jr. and won the Sorority Stakes at Monmouth Park wire-to-wire by six lengths on Aug. 21.
A daughter of Grade 1 winner Daredevil, Vedareo is out of the Grade 2-placed winning Mineshaft mare Vero Amore. Vero Amore is also the dam of 2020 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Vequist, Vedareo’s half-sister, who was trained by Robert Reid Jr.
