Capo Kane, a California-bred son of Street Sense, jumped on the 2021 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve trail with a win in the Jerome Stakes at Aqueduct on New Year’s Day. He earned 10 qualifying points with the victory, which came after he took the early lead, held off pressure from Kentucky shipper Swill through the backstretch, and then drew clear of the field while drifting out in the homestretch to win by a widening 6 ¼ lengths.

Capo Kane finished second in his debut at Parx Racing on Oct. 28 and then graduated in his second start at the Philadelphia-area track on Nov. 25, winning by 4 ½ lengths while also drifting out in early stretch.
Most recently, Capo Kane was third in the Grade 3 Withers Stakes at Aqueduct on Feb. 6.
Owned by Bing Cherry Racing and Leonard Liberto and trained by Harold Wyner, Capo Kane is out of the Hard Spun mare Twirl Me and was purchased for only $26,000 by Liberto at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training auction in 2020.
