On the Crystal Auto Spa car wash lot at night in Long Beach, Calif.

Score: 8.1

They recently moved the location to this car wash, and I have to say that it was a good move. There is plenty of parking, it’s easy to find and the location is convenient.

The Good:

• Friendly service
• Good variety of meats
• Salsas and sides are tasty and fresh.
• Tacos are only $1.25 each.

What to Improve:

• Maybe put up a few folding tables for seating.
• The Al Pastor had a good marinade but maybe it was a bit too overcooked.
• They were out of a few drinks they had advertised on the front of the truck.

Saturday, Del Mar, Race 9, Grade 3 Jimmy Durante Stakes, 7:30 p.m. ET

#1 Casino Red (12-1 odds): She made a very good impression in her debut victory, which happened to be her first local start after arriving from Ireland. She was quick into stride and was able to get herself into a good mid-pack position entering the first turn despite breaking from post-position 11 in a field of 12. She made a seven-wide move around the turn but was still able to catch the leader, who finished well clear of the third-place finisher. I liked the way she accelerated in the stretch and the way she finished up. Her speed figure might not have been too flashy, but I think it was a perfect race to set up a big effort for this spot. She had not raced in about five months before that last win. I think we’re going to see a big race from her and the odds will be generous.
