Jack and Laurie Wolf started Starlight Racing, originally Starlight Stables, in 2000. After campaigning such successful Grade 1 winners as Harlan’s Holiday, Ashado, Octave, Take the Points, Hilda’s Passion and Shanghai Bobby, among others, Laurie felt inspired to start an all-ladies, all-fillies racing syndicate and in 2013 she formed StarLadies Racing.

Laurie Wolf: “Maybe it seems like it’s male-dominated, but from the top to the bottom, we’ve got women that own farms, do breeding, do consigning, work the sales companies, are owners, trainers or assistant trainers. There are so many women in this industry. We’re here and we all know we’re here. It’s like the outside world doesn’t really notice that. We are trying to get that across to the next generation—helping them, giving them a leg up, and giving them contacts.”

StarLadies Racing has already campaigned such successful runners as multiple graded stakes-winning and stakes-placed Eskenformoney, stakes winner Firsthand Report, Best of Ohio Distaffer Takechargedelilah, multiple graded stakes-placed Tonasah, and graded stakes-winning and graded stakes-placed Orbolution.
