Xigera

Xigera faced 2-year-olds at the competitive Saratoga meet in two races to begin her career, recording her maiden win in her second start in a 1 1/16-mile turf race on Aug. 28, 2022. 

Xigera was switched to the dirt and tested in class by trainer Philip Bauer versus graded stakes competition in her third outing in the Grade 1 $500,000 Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland on Oct. 7. In the Alcibiades, Xigera pressed the pace, was bothered in the stretch, and finished fourth but subsequently was placed third via disqualification. 

Kentucky-bred Xigera, by Nyquist, is out of the stakes-winning Black Tie Affair mare Argent Affair, who also produced Forty Under, who won the Grade 3 Pilgrim Stakes and has earned $380,536 through Oct. 12, 2022.
