Trikari

Trikari won his maiden race in his second career outing as a 2-year-old on Dec. 28, 2023, in a 1 1/16-mile race on a synthetic track at Gulfstream Park. His second career win then came on another all-weather track by a neck in the $249,000 Rushaway Stakes at Turfway Park going 1 1/16 miles on March 23, 2024.

Trikari then proved to be just as good or better when switched to the turf when he was victorious on the Kentucky Derby undercard in the Grade 2 $600,000 American Turf Stakes on May 4 at Churchill Downs. Sent off as a 47-1 bomb in a 14-horse field in the American Turf, Trikari stalked the pace close-up throughout and then outran the longest odds on the board to get up and win by 1 1/2 lengths.

Trikari shipped to Penn National for his next start and ran well once again, but this time settled for third when losing by a total of a neck in a three-way photo finish in the Grade 3 Penn Mile on May 31.

After the loss at Penn National, Trikari quickly made amends in a big way in his next race, coming out on the good side of a photo finish by a head this time to score his first Grade 1 win in the $750,000 Belmont Derby Invitational where he topped a five-horse field going 1 3/16 miles on the grass at Belmont at the Big A on July 6. 

Trikari took the next step during his standout 3-year-old season with yet another big turf stakes win, this time at Colonial Downs in the Grade 2 $500,000 Secretariat Stakes going one mile (formerly run at Arlington). 

Trikari is trained by Graham Motion. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Oscar Performance out of the mare Dynamic Holiday by Harlan's Holiday.
