Mischevious Alex

Mischevious Alex debuted June 25, 2019, at Parx Racing and won a 4 ½-furlong sprint by a head. He followed with a runner-up finish by a neck in a 5 ½-furlong allowance-optional claiming race July 27 at Laurel Park.

The bay Into Mischief colt opened a clear lead in early stretch of the Sapling Stakes in September at Monmouth Park but faded late and finished third, beaten by three-quarters of a length.

After an unplaced finish in a stakes race on the grass, Mischevious Alex returned to the main track and trainer John Servis added blinkers for the Parx Juvenile Stakes Nov. 5. The result was an encouraging, front-running 9 ¾-length romp.

After a short layoff, Mischevious Alex made his 3-year-old bow in the Grade 3 Swale Stakes Feb. 1 at Gulfstream Park and again went right to the front in a seven-length win under Irad Ortiz Jr. The talented colt added another prize to his resume when he rolled to a two-length win in the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes March 7 at Aqueduct, earning 50 qualifying points for the 2020 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve.

Mischevious Alex earned the first win of his 2021 season in the Grade 3 Gulfstream Park Sprint Stakes on Feb. 13. He won handily, for his first stakes win for new trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. He followed with a similarly dominant victory in the Grade 1 Carter Handicap April 3 at Aqueduct, where he completed seven-eighths of a mile in 1:23.97 to secure his first career Grade 1 win.

Mischevious Alex is out of the winning Speightstown mare White Pants Night, a half-sister to a trio of stakes winners.
