Masteroffoxhounds

Masteroffoxhounds began his career in Ireland, where won one of six races and finished fifth in a Group 3 race before coming to the United States. He joined the barn of Richard Baltas and made his stateside debut in a Nov. 7, 2020, allowance-optional claiming race at Del Mar, where he encountered early trouble and was unplaced. The War Front colt was dominant in his second try in the U.S., stretching out from a mile to 1 3/8. Iles Nov. 28 at Del Mar and coasting to a 4 ¼-length runaway.

After a two-month layoff, Masteroffoxhounds was tested again in stakes company and this time he aced the test in his 4-year-old bow. He stalked pacesetter Acclimate from second in the 1 ¼-mile, Grade 2 San Marcos Stakes before unleashing a powerful closing bid in the stretch to edge clear late Feb. 6 at Santa Anita Park.

Grade 3 winner Outstanding, by Galileo, is the dam (mother) of Masteroffoxhounds. Outstanding is a full-sister (same dam, same sire) to Irish classic winner and 2013 Breeders’ Cup Turf winner Magician.
