Fort Larned

Fort Larned showed he was an elite member of the older male division with a victory in the Grade 1, 2012 Whitney Invitational Handicap prior to posting a career-defining triumph later that season in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Classic.

In 2013 the colt earned a sixth in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Handicap and a fifth in the Oaklawn handicap, but secured himself a win by 6 1/4 lengths in the Grade 1 Stephen Foster Handicap. Fort Larned added another win to his race record at Churchill Downs in the Homecoming Classic Stakes, before attempting to defend his title in the 2013 Breeders' Cup Classic where he finished a dissapointing fourth.

A bay colt by E Dubai, Fort Larned earned his first stakes win in March 2012 at Tampa Bay Downs with a victory in the Challenger Stakes and he followed with a dominant victory in the Grade 3 Skip Away Stakes at Gulfstream Park in his graded stakes debut for trainer Ian Wilkes.

A homebred of Janis Whitham, Fort Larned's second dam is two-time champion Bayakoa (Arg).
