Fast as Flight

Fast as Flight, a daughter of Air Force Blue bred in Kentucky, raced five times before breaking through with her first career win, finishing second twice and third twice in that span. Her first victory came on Feb. 2, 2022, in a 1 1/16-mile race over Gulfstream Park’s all-weather track. The then 4-year-old returned that fall racing on turf and won a 1 1/16-mile race on Churchill’s grass course among four starts.

In 2023, Fast as Flight raced five times with one victory, that coming over a yielding turf course in the Anchorage Stakes at Ellis Park in July.

Fast as Flight returned for a 6-year-old campaign with a new trainer, Martin Drexler, and finished a good second in the Sand Springs Stakes at Gulfstream Park in late March. She then stepped up in class for the Grade 3 Modesty Stakes May 3 at Churchill Downs. The 1 1/8-mile Modesty was held over a rain-saturated turf course rated as yielding, and 20.95-1 longshot Fast as Flight once again took to the off going, saving ground and then finishing strongly under Jose Ortiz to earn her first graded stakes win by a length.

Fast as Flight is out of the unraced Tiznow mare Tiznow Peace and is a close relative to Preakness Stakes winner War of Will.
